This is a rare thing from my experience. An ABS filament that changes color as you print. (rainbow filament) It doesn't have much of a silk sheen to it but it does look really nice. Finally I have the ability to use color changing filament that is a little tougher and stronger than PLA. (silk PLA tends to be less strong and more brittle than standard PLA or PLA+)I am half way through this spool and so far the results are really good. The adhesion is very good. I had trouble removing a brim on a model and decided it didn't need a brim for that model anyway. My prints have excellent detail and I can print pretty fast with ABS.

First, itโ€™s color changing ABS. (Also known as rainbow barf ABS.)I wasnโ€™t sure what to expect from this, as Iโ€™ve never used filament from this company. I decided to give things a try using my โ€œParamount ABSโ€ profile on my Voron V2 enclosed printer. The Rapido HD print head was able to maintain 22mm3/s volumetric flow rate at 245C printed on a 115C bed in a 48C enclosure with 50% fan on a stealth burner tool. With those settings, I had no issue with warping or lifting on a textured PEI sheet. The popular โ€œwolf songโ€ model scaled to 160mm tall printed with no issue whatsoever, and even the severe overhangs look good. The filament diameter varied from 1.73 to 1.76mm in the first meter or so. The filament appears to be well spooled without tangles (but only time and a lot of printing can tell if thatโ€™s true for the entire spool.)The filament color changes are gradual and resulted in a good looking model. (Sadly, Iโ€™m unable to take a photo.). As with any color changing filament, a larger print will result in more color changes. A person should get familiar with the type of filament theyโ€™re using so they can estimate the changes. If more colors are desired, either scale the model up, or print multiple models at once.Iโ€™d certainly buy this filament again.

Okay, I've got an X1C and a K1 so filament adhesion is seldom an issue. Print quality isn't an issue very often either. This is good filament and I haven't had any issues with it. I'd buy it again, at the right price. It does stink, but all ABS does. Not the worst, but not the best amount of odor.

Now they need more color options, but please NO rainbows. pick a few choice shades of 2 similar colors. like a dark brown to a lighter green or blue to purple to pink,.,, yellow to red with a nice orange blend between... this way we can give our prints a shaded look.edit, it will warp. which will cause adhesion issues.

Got the red PLA. Package was great. Vacuum sealed with silca beads. Tried to start printing with the suggested nozzle and bed temps. It did not end well. Bed adhesion was not good when the same setting were used as 4 other brands I regularly get. Had to print first layer at 220c with bed temp at 75c, just to get bed adhesion. Then massive blobing on the perimeters in random areas when seam settings had them aligned. And the blobing was not in every layer. Filament is stiff, rigid, and unforgiving. I'll have to find settings that work that are different from every other pla I have used so far.Edit* 220C nozzle 75C bed first layer, 210C nozzle 60C seems to works well after burning through the first few meters of filament. Still rigid and brittle.

I been learning whatโ€™s good and whatโ€™s bad when it comes to filament. I Received green, purple, rainbow pack yesterday afternoon opened package about 9:30pm The green and the purple are good solid shades and the rainbow might not be exactly what you would expect but is a cooler looking color combo/blend than a simple rainbow but Iโ€™ll find out when I get to printing that one and add to this later. So far I have used the purple and ran a print overnight and woke up to a successfully completed project 11hrs@30mm/s. I didnโ€™t make any adjustments from the other brand petg I use and trust I just changed filament hit print and let it run and went to bed. Winding on the spool is good and the spool itself is of superior design and quality to most. Sticks to the PEI sheet on my Ender3E even better than I ask. Top notch adhesion. I have sent a lot of other brands filament back where it came from in the last month. This one is a win. Solid product I will be keeping and buying more of 3DF brand filaments.

UPDATE: So I had issues trying to get the PETG to print at my usual settings. Customer service reached out and gave suggested settings. I tried them and it printed much cleaner and far less brittle. I will say that the new roll of rainbow filament they sent looked more promising. it just takes too long to change colors. I still didn't get the color change I hoped for. This time I got a blue gecko, BUT at least it did print and didn't break coming off the bed. The filament is OK, but the customer service was great. They absolutely tried to make things better. I would likely try their solid color filaments, but maybe not the color change one.Overall with the better print and the excellent service, I did raise them a couple stars.I ordered what looked like a shiny rainbow filament to print gecko hooks for my pool towels. What I got was a dull vomit pink roll. It had enough blue at the beginning to make you think there was a chance. Not so much. First few layers were bluish, then nothing but pink nightmare.I was ready to at least give a few stars for print quality, but it doesn't even get that. It was MUCH sloppier than other PETG that I have used and FAR more brittle. I've printed several of these hooks and had no problem separating the supports. Both tails broke while trying to get the support out. I was able to scrape most of the remnants off, but not really worth the effort. I guess I can use whats left of the spool to hold the lid down on my box of better materials.

I normally run every new pla spool thru a print of Benchy Pirate, and everything held together. Also ran a test of changing spools on a cube print (number of layers depends on number of colours on hand). Layers adhered to other filaments as expected.Thermal colour change is interesting.

Buying Guide

Using a 3D printer can make it really easy to create anything you can imagine, but finding the right filament is key to getting the desired results. One of the most important things to consider when buying 3D printing filaments is the filament diameter. Filament diameters can range from 1.75mm to 2.85mm, and the size that you need will depend on the type of 3D printer that you have. Most 3D printers can use either 1.75mm or 2.85mm filaments, but some are only compatible with one or the other. Another thing to consider when buying 3D printing filaments is the material that the filament is made from. The most common materials used for 3D printing filaments are PLA and ABS, but there are also filaments made from PETG, nylon, and other materials. Each type of filament has its own unique properties, so it's important to choose a material that is suited to your specific needs. When buying 3D printing filaments, you will also need to choose a color for your filament. Most filament manufacturers offer a wide range of colors to choose from, so you should have no problem finding a color that you like.
