I have a very well-equipped home gym, but cable flyes are missing. Now that I am getting back into lifting, I want to add some chest cable flyes to my workout.I went to the gym in town where the "big guys" lift just to look around. I was considering joining the gym simply to get access to the cable flyes. I wanted to target my upper pecs with cable flyes. I discussed my situation with the receptionist at the gym and she recommended getting some bands for home use. She said that it would "save me some money." What a great tip!I had never heard of using bands before so I looked up some videos on-line and liked what I saw. I finally decided on getting the DYNAPRO three-band set (yellow, red & green). I am extremely pleased with my purchase. They work exactly as advertised. I use them in my home gym during each workout. I use the bands for both "incline" and "decline" chest cable flyes, and they work great for that purpose. I also use these bands for bicep curls and tricep extensions. Very convenient and very effective. For people who travel, these bands are a small and extremely lightweight item to simply toss into the suitcase or the car. Then you can get in a quick workout while one-the-road, wherever you are.Additional thoughts:* Unless you are an absolute beginner with weights/exercising or have a particular physical impairment/injury or are doing physical rehab work, my opinion is that the yellow band (the "weakest" one) is basically worthless. I purchased the three-band set (yellow, red & green) and I only use the red and green bands. Also, I have just purchased the blue band ("extra heavy") because I know I am ready to use it with some exercises.* I have only used my bands for about three weeks, but they seem to be in perfect shape. No sign of wear & tear, but only time will tell.* My preference is to never adjust the bands. It's not necessary. You can either alter your position to increase the bands tension/resistance (e.g., by stepping further away from where the band is anchored), or simply buy another heavier band. You can also choose to do more reps for any given exercise.* Finally, my opinion is that these bands are very safe and that there's virtually no possibility of hurting oneself if the bands are used properly. Of course, if the band were to break or snap, that would be a different issue.* I never received the instruction guide from DYNAPRO that is supposed to be e-mailed to me "when the product is shipped." This hasn't occurred, twice. However, when I initially purchased my first set of bands I also purchased a laminated two-poster set of resistance band exercises from QuickFit. These posters show a large variety of resistance band exercises. Inexpensive and very helpful.* I never did join the gym. However, I did go back to thank the receptionist in-person.Excellent product. Highly Recommend.

These resistance bands seem sturdy. The handles have a "comfort" grip but I particularly love that the handles are large enough to get a foot in. One exercise I use it for (somewhat like a donkey kick) requires inserting foot in to handle.

I purchased these after my last set from a different company snapped. I can see that these bands are of better quality and less apt to snap. They can be adjusted to your liking very easily and the handles are much more comfortable than some sets that I have used at the gym. This set has the 3 colors that a beginner would look for. The yellow being the easiest resistance. Green would give you a little more resistance, and finally red when you are ready to move up to more difficult resistance band. Anything after red would be much harder. There are many books you can purchase on resistance band training.

You could spend a few dollars more and get a set of resistance bands, assorted goodies, and a carry bag :-) Big deal. The Dynapro is truly a quality product and worth the money. If you select the right resistance for you, then one band will probably be all you need. (It's difficult to tell which one you'll need from the description – maybe you order a few, find the one that works, and return the rest?)One thing I especially like is that the handle sides are rigid plastic, not flexible webbing material. The design allows the grip to rotate while the side support remains in place. This is huge. Once you use the other kind, you'll see what I mean.REVIEW EDIT!!After probably a year of light to moderate home use, my black (max. resistance) DYNAPRO band snapped off at the handle. There's a lot of force, and I felt lucky to have been only startled, not injured. I wrote the company and supplied a photo, and they sent me a new band.I continued to use the old band (tied a big loop and put my shoe within it to do bicep exercises). Just today, the band snapped right at the second original handle. See photo. Now I'm not going to ask the company for any compensation, but if you're reading this review as a potential buyer, you should know that band failure is a real possibility. If I had been abusing or misusing the product, I would say so.

Buying Guide

If you're looking to enhance your fitness routine, a resistance band can be a versatile addition to your range of equipment. To select the best resistance band, start by assessing your fitness goals and needs. Determine whether you want a band for strength training, flexibility or rehabilitation, as this will dictate the band's resistance level. Bands typically come in various resistance levels, ranging from light to heavy, so choose one that suits your current fitness level and allows for progression as you get stronger. Pay attention to the material of the band; latex bands are durable and offer consistent resistance, while fabric bands are gentler on the skin and less likely to roll. Consider the band's length; longer bands provide more versatility in exercises. Look for bands with clear markings indicating their resistance level, ensuring easy identification during workouts. Double-check the band's construction for quality, with secure seams and a non-slip surface for optimal grip. Finally, opt for a band that comes with an exercise guide or access to online resources to help you make the most of your workouts. By considering these factors, you can confidently select the best resistance band to boost your fitness journey.
