Needed a replacement and this worked just as good as the original

Purchased to replace a failed operator of the same model but different company, That was 20 years old. 10 minute install, about 30 minutes of tweaking the adjustment. But that seems to be par for the course with these things.

I’ve installed several on high traffic doors and they seem on par with better known brands.

This product replaced 40 year old door hardware that had been giving us some head aches for quite some time. Works like brand new because it is!

Heavy duty. Same mounting pattern as LCN, so it works well as a replacement. I have been purchasing these for years and have had excellent luck with them.

Decent closer, easy swap for my broken one

The door closer is what I wanted, but they kept getting shipped with damaged plastic covers (#3 was the wrong color). The last one I received was barely cracked, and since it is in a hidden area, I'm just going to keep it. The closer itself is beefy enough that I believe it will withstand the test of time....

This was a replacement for a 20+ year old closer I had in place. It worked perfectly. It was easy to install and had all the right parts. Very good commercial quality.

For someone that knows what they are doing, this would be great but with no experience I felt like the instructions were sub par. I did some guess and check. It was a 10 minute job that took me an hour.

I'm not sure how much of a name brand Dynasty is - we've always had Assa Abloy closers, I think - but this one is a very good alternative. The quality for the price is terrific. The directions are a bit less clear, and the adjustments are not as precise, but it's a solid closer and the tradeoffs are definitely worth it.

The old unit broke from wear and tear and was slamming the door. Wanted to get one to replace the unit that was on the door. Found this which was the exact replacement. Went in fine and is working great. We just installed today.

This unit was purchased to replace an old door closer. In a nutshell, do yourself a favor and hire a contractor with commercial door experience and be done with it. I spent about 4.5 hours with the re-install which didn't work properly. Spent another 3 hours re-installing it and it is only slightly better. So 7.5 hours I'll never get back.

The motor is very quiet. The look is sleek. I was very annoying with my metal gate slamming and took a while to find a replacement at a reasonable price. This is it! I love it.

these are great closures but always check the cover as i have received a few over the time ive been buying them that are cracked or busted from shipping

I wasn't exactly inspired by the 'Dynasty' name, but this is a nice looking unit with a cast iron body. It feels like quality. I expect it to last for a good while on the front door of our retail store. If it doesn't I will be sure to update this review!The product was well packaged and the included templates seemed good. Of course the written instructions included the usual Chinglish/OCR type gobbledegook, but there's enough that is intelligible for you to figure it out. Just be sure to mount it with the adjustment screws facing out, not towards the door! Talking of which, the screws are, going from the 'square' end to the 'round' end: Latch speed, main speed, backcheck force.

Easy to install, lots of adjustments to fine tune it so you don't cut the cat in half. Will purchase more.

First of all I want to say that the closer is extremely well manufactured and the mechanisms are incredibly heavy duty. This is not a cheap facimile or something. The only piece of it even remotely less than heavy duty is the silver color, which is plastic, but is just a decorative cover and painted. I was not dissapointed with the general build quality.I will say that the main issue I had was due to a drafting error on the template. The system can be mounted in 3 different ways, and I needed to mount mine on the pull side. The template holes are in the right spot, but the template has text that makes it appear that it is flippable for right to left. It is NOT. You MUST mount the piston so that the top of the spot where the arm mounts is flush with the top of the door.If you use the template this way, you run the risk of mounting it 1/4" too low. I did this, and couldn't remount it higher because the holes in the door would be too close to the old holes. The drafter of the template made it look like you could use this as-is for the left side, but you cannot! Flip the page over, use the template for the left side on the other side of the paper.(see the attached drawing)I ended up working with a friend with a metal lathe to get a spacer fabricated so I could leave the piston mounted low, and still clear the top of the door with the arm.Other than that you should be ok ;-)

If you want a commercial door closer, plan to spend probably twice this. I found this one great for the front door on my townhome. low traffic. works well. has standard adjustments for swing, latch, force, and backlash.Complete instructions with drill templates and brackets for all standard types of mounting.

Settled on this after much research. Absolutely perfect. Very smooth action and stays adjusted appropriately. Also, is nearly silent.

Lightweight, but very serviceable; and excellent value.

good quality closer for the money

Adds a decorative touch to the door. It can be adjusted so that the door stays open for the last foot or so until it is manually closed.UPDATE 12/05/18: I originally rated this four stars, but within three months of use on our front door it began to lose its holding ability and had to be adjusted every few days. Definitely do not recommend.UPDATE 12/11/18: After hiring a professional to readjust the door closer, it now closes satisfactorily. However, I am suspicious that this adjustment will only last temporarily. If this adjustment holds for at least six months I will once again give it four stars.

Great Price, fast service

When this thing says it’s heavy duty it’s not lying. It’s really heavy just holding it before installing it. Insulation was pretty easy and it works just like it should I would definitely recommend.

Our house door that goes out to the garage is old and the plate for the doorknob catches. This frequently causes the door to not close all the way and the dogs (German shepherds) have figured out how to open the door and get out to the garage. My teenage daughter sometimes forgets to close the garage door so the dogs then get out into the neighborhood and run around. They are sweet and not mean, but we live in a golf course community and people get upset when they run around and I also worry about them getting hit by cars or golfers who are scared.To remedy the situation (I have tried fixing the house door, but it continues to stick) I got a door closer.It's my first time installing one, but I am fairly handy. The instructions are a little vague on some parts (push vs pull and a couple other minor things), but I was able to figure it out. There were some definite issues with the install. I used the template guide, once I figured out the correct 1, and drilled the holes.Problem #1 - the template had me drilling holes where there were hollow spaces - the upper bar is mounted to the trim piece only - the frame boards are lower than the template - I may have to go back and pull the trim off, mount an extra 2x4 then put the trim and closer back on, but it is working fine right now.Problem #2 - the mechanism on the door part wouldn't go in until I cut out a part of the trim because it was preventing the door from closing.It has solved our problem with the dogs though and is working smoothly.It's a big relief not having to worry about them running off anymore....

This was exactly what I needed for my garage door. Worked great right out of the box. Had an issue with the template sheet being backwards as compared to the instruction sheet. But thats the instructions not the product.
