I have 2 air impact wrenches and they work fine but struggle. I was trying to loosen the bottom strut bolt on my 4X4 and neither could handle it. I then researched and purchased this product and removed the bolt. All the other suspension bolts came out with ease. Btw, I ran 150 psi air line and it handled it. As a result, very pleased with the torque and highly recommend this product. It just works!

I am an hobbiest mechanic. I have 3 jeeps I maintain and a car. I do gear instals and suspension builds on the side, occasionally.Have been using/struggling with an old Handed-down CH impact for years. It finally gave up the ghost. I bit the bullet and spent a little extra on this impact. I used for the 1st time today to change over four 8 lug rimmed tires. I swear I thought it was broken at 1st because it barely makes any noise and sure seems like it is barely working. That was furthest from the trurh. With my old impact I would have to break the lug's loose 1st with my four-way lug wrench. Then the impact could move the next. When installing notes I used to have to check all of them afterwards it makes for there were tight enough come out by hand.Did a test on how tight it gets the lugs; on number 3 out of 4 it gets lugs as tight or tighter than I can get with my 4 way wheel lug wrench. Pretty sure this thing will last me the rest of my life. Very happy where the purchase. As an added bonus, I tested out Its efficiency by using the onboard air compressor system in my Jeep.. With my old impact, this was pointless; I wouldn't power the gun. With this new gun, it works as well as when it's hooked up to my shop compressor. This impact is super powerful and super efficient at the same time!

Used this impact to remove the dreaded crank pulley on a Honda J35 series engine. I had broken the internal pulley area with a 5 foot breaker bar after heating with a torch. This thing took the bolt out in four seconds at around 90 psi.My guess is that the impacting hammers internally have a tremendous mass to them and contributed to this impact being an absolute juggernaut.Build quality has me wondering if I'm looking at the last impact that I will buy in my lifetime. I'm impressed that much. It looks good and sounds like a race car. Wear hearing protection if you want to save your ears.

This impact is very reliable and great to use. Beats the similar snap on variant that I have. Used daily. I’m impressed with how well it works. First day of use it broke free some rotten leaf spring bushing bolts on an f350 like they weren’t even there and no hesitation.

****Update 1/2/2013****I have used this impact gun a great deal since my last review, and this gun is still holding strong. I recommend you purchase the IR air tool oil. I did buy the protective boot for my gun, its red and takes regular abuse (gun occassionally gets tossed to the side un-intentionally while I'm working) and my impact gun is still looking great!I use this gun for A LOT of different things, most recently: Busting off the bed nuts on my GMC project truck (nuts were rusted), leaf spring removal, front suspension A-Arms, Honda suspension rebuild: McPherson strut removal, sway bar, hub-bearing removal and install (this was so sweet, i bought the bearing kit on Amazon as well), I can go on and on. You wont be disappointed with this gun, for the price and performance, you cannot beat it.Note: I grew up fixing cars with my dad, so a word of advice from someone who has been doing this a while: Don't skimp and use your regular sockets with ANY impact gun. Spend the money on real impact sockets and use impact grade U-joints and extensions. Regular sockets WILL crack because of their thin-wall design and are simply not up to the task of taking abuse from an impact gun. You cannot put a price on your safety, and ER visits because a shard of shattered socket flew in there should not be in your plans.I still stick with my opinion that if you choose an impact gun, make sure it is serviceable (can be opened up and you can purchase a rebuild kit for it) this alone will ensure your gun will be around for years and years to come. A lot of the other guns i shopped for were of a sealed/riveted design, and wont allow servicing should you need it.****I highly recommend this gun to others.****Gentlemen,I recently purchased this impact gun, which would be my first. I must say that i love the power. I use it for tire rotation, brake jobs, crank pulley bolt removal, etc. The torque is great; I can't even turn lug nuts any further than this tool can by hand. The power selector knob is great for varying power to the socket. I bought the IR 14pc socket set (metric), which by the way, are beautiful! too bad the finish gets messed up as you use them.I chose this gun over a Craftsman impact, the particular one could not be rebuilt with a kit like this one can. Beutiful aluminum finish on the body, I think I will buy a protective boot for it.

I've had a cheap Husky impact for quite some time. It wasn't overly powerful so I was looking for something a bit better. I received an IR 2130 as a gift and was really looking forward to using it. I have borrowed a neighbor's old IR 231 several times for jobs my Husky just couldn't handle. So, I knew I wanted an IR impact. After trying out the 2130 on some lug nuts, it removed them with my large compressor but didn't knock them out near as quickly or easily as I was expecting. When trying to use the 2130 on my smaller compressor it wouldn't even touch the lug nuts. So, having used a 231c in the past, I thought I would pick up a 231c to compare to the 2130.The 231c was able to fairly easily take off lug nuts on my F150 (150ft-lbs) even on a small portable compressor with a 1/4" line going to it. When hooked up to my big compressor with a 3/8" line it rips them right off effortlessly. This impact is heavy, loud and hits HARD! Compared to the 2130 it's much louder, slightly less ergonomic and seems to hit harder. But, I'm a weekend wrencher and enthusiast. I think the 2130 needs more air to really shine. If I was using it daily in an automotive environment I might lean towards the 2130 for most jobs and an Aircat for those really stubborn bolts. But, for what I use it for, the 231C will do the job well and if it's half as well-built as the old USA made ones will likely last me a lifetime.Pros:Works quite well even on a limited air supplyWith a good air supply really hits hard (Much better than my cheap husky and in my opinion better than the 2130)Well built, feels like a tank, parts readily availableThere's a reason they've made this same impact for 20+ years!Cons:It's loud compared to other newer designsTrigger seems to work well but the plastic feels cheap to meMade in China (although it doesn't appear the the quality is any different than the older USA built impacts)I did a lot of reasearch and looked at a lot of reviews. Ultimately I'm happy I went with the 231c. The 2130 is a good wrench but not what I was looking for. Hopefully this review helps someone decide which impact to buy!

Bought this Ingersoll Rand 3/4" impact before an upcoming job, knowing we were going to need more than the 1/2" drives we all carry on our trucks. This impact made short work of the over 300 nuts and bolts that we were removing and replacing during the project. We were working with a variety of nut sizes up to 2" and torqued to over 700 ft lbs. This impact removed the nuts easily and worked flawlessly during the entire project. We had another older model Ingersoll Rand 3/4" impact that need a little more effort to get broken loose but this new model didn't hesitate. Was very happy with the feel and quality of the tool. We were working off a truck mounted PTO setup running around 90 PSIG. The tool never seemed like it was struggling for air and had plenty of power. Would buy again in a heartbeat.

I have used Ingersoll rand products for a long time. Has plenty of power and actually pretty comfortable to use. Down side is that IRS other products are suffering from poor design, specifically their 1/2 in. drive impacts and angle grinders…..triggers should be made of other material than plastic.UPDATE…. I work in the heavy duty truck industry. I used this gun exactly 3 times and now it just blows air(something broke in the anvil system). 2000 ft lbs???….never last to reach it. I guess the quality went down on these as well. I purchased an Aircat to replace it. They (AIRCAT) have their s**t together.

So I use this almost daily in a diesel shop and you have to have a high pressure and large air compressor to run this efficiently… that being said this will break most bolts lugs and just about and thing the can take a socket free it’s a rare occurrence that I have to get the 1in drive impact out so this to me is worth the price just make sure your compressor can handle it

It’s light and easy to handle. Lacks in the power department. I’ve used larger, heavier impacts that have more power. Good for lighter duty work. Torx head screws loosen up. I put some more loctite on the screws and reinstalled.

It's a joy to use this rattle gun. I work on tour buses and use this on tires, radius rods, tie rod ends, etc. It's incredibly quiet but has big power and nut busting ability. It's light weight and fairly compact for a 3/4" gun. My coworkers have an Earthquake XT 3/4" and a Nitrocat 1600-TH-A between them. The 2145Qi is smaller, lighter, quieter, and in my opinion, operates easier with the large forward/reverse buttons at the user's thumb. A fantastic buy overall! I highly recommend it.

Compre esta pistola de 3/4 para apretar las tornillos que no pudiera mi pistola de impacto de batería 1/2 y puede más mi pistola de batería. Al final me toca apretar con la mano.
